Circular economy in Senegal through Recuplast - by Invest for jobs
This film introduces the circular economy in Senegal through Recuplast, a pioneer in plastic recycling.
It begins with an overview presented by GIZ-Senegal, followed by a closer look at the production chain: from sorting and shredding plastics to cleaning, drying, and transforming them into durable products. The process highlights innovative techniques such as hot pressure plate forming and CNC machining, ensuring high-quality finishing and rigorous quality control.
The film also showcases Recuplast’s creative approach to product development, combining sustainability with innovation. Key facts underline its impact: more than 7,000 tonnes of unmixed granulate produced since 2010, a dedicated product line since 2020, 310 employees with social security benefits, and a projection to reach 750 employees by 2030 with in-house training. To date, 9,800 tonnes of CO₂ emissions have been saved.
Through this journey, Recuplast demonstrates how creativity connects people, the environment, and the economy.
